My name is Tone Bråten I am a Family counsellor for IDEAS and AVA Peter.
My goal is to help you feel less lonely, normalize your feelings and thoughts, and make the treatment easier to go through. You will make it! I also want you to have a good quality of life during treatment.
I am a writer, a family counsellor, speaker and author who specializes in infertility.
I work with couples and singles from around the world.
I am the author of the book "Ole is made of a magical tadpole”, a book made for children who are a result of sperm donation.
I also have previous experience of working with the placement of foster children, and approve future adoptive parents.
My commitment and interest in fertility is as a result of experiencing involuntarily childlessness myself. I have experienced IVF treatment myself and after four IVF attempts, I am the mother of two beautiful twin girls, who today are 6 years old.
During my family therapy studies I specialized in infertility, and now for the past 4 years I have had the opportunity to talk with hundreds of couples from Norway, and elsewhere around the world. I Skype with men, women and couples from all around the world that have decided to undertake treatments such as IVF, egg donation, sperm donation, and embryo donation.
All of the work that I do is for those who are in a process towards their goal of having a child. I have specialized on the emotional and the ethical part of the process, I have great knowledge of Norwegian and foreign clinics, and know about all the options that exist for there to be a child at the end of the project!
As a counsellor, my goal is to give you peace of mind and quality of life while you are going through treatment . I will give you tools, so you get the strength to stay in the process.
I can open up to new ideas and new ways to deal with relevant issues, in collaboration with the couple or the individual. It is important that involuntary childlessness is handled in a comprehensive manner, It needs more than good medical care. Protecting the individual's mental health, relationship and guidance on the road is also important.
There are no challenges that are too small, or questions that are too simple. Each individual needs to be listened to, seen and heard in a challenging process!
