Are you a healthy single woman between the ages of 40-42?

If you are a healthy woman between the ages of 40-42, there is a good chance that 20-25% of your eggs are still normal and are capable of creating a healthy child. If you still do not have your own children, waiting for ‘Mr Right’ may become too risky due to this egg aging process!

Egg aging process starts after the age of 30 and results in chromosome abnormality in more and more eggs, which makes them incapable of creating a healthy ongoing pregnancy and or a healthy child.

Hence there may be a good reason for you not to wait any longer and to proceed towards creating your own child with your own eggs, before all your eggs sadly become abnormal after the age of 42 [D. Wells, 2013]. Luckily, while you are still under 43 there is a method to help sort out the abnormal eggs and embryos and to create a pregnancy with a healthy child. Interested? Read more!

If you are single you will need to use donor sperm which might not have been the way you wanted to create the baby you were dreaming about! Still we believe that it is better to use donor sperm to fertilize your own eggs rather than to wait for the right prince charming for several more years and to end up with creating a child with his sperm but… donor eggs.

We believe that your own baby created with your own eggs is the best gift a woman may ever receive in her life, even if through a compromise such as donor sperm

Sperm donors

At AVA-Peter we are proud to be able to offer you a donor with a basic profile from our own sperm donor database. Within the basic profile you will receive the following information about a sperm donor: age, blood group, height, weight, eye and hair colour. . If however you would prefer to use an open sperm donor, choose your own donor and gain in-depth information and profiles of the donor we are more than happy to recommend European Sperm Bank and help you with the choice and sperm transportation to our clinic.

If you would like to find out more about different sperm donor options and how we can use this to meet your own personal needs please contact us for a free non-obliging telephone consultation.

Treatment opportunities

If your follicular reserve is normal or reduced insignificantly we definitely recommend to try with your own eggs: IVF with your own eggs and donor sperm + genetic testing of your embryos before embryo transfer.

The IVF (in vitro fertilization) is a procedure of fertilizing your eggs outside your body (in a test tube). IVF allows not only to make sure that fertilization of an egg with a sperm has taken place and a developing embryo is placed at the right time in the right place, but also provides access to embryos at pre-implantation stage! This provides you with a unique opportunity of genetic testing of your embryos so that only the 20-25% of your embryos, which are normal can be transferred in the uterus, not the wrong ones. Genetic screening of your embryos before embryo transfer in the uterus increases efficiency of your embryo transfer and reduces time to pregnancy!

If you would like to find out more about how your eggs are grown and collected as well as how an embryo can be genetically checked and then put back in the uterus, please read more here:

Combined own egg IVF + donor egg IVF

  • Several unsuccessful  IVF treatments  behind?
  • Low AMH = Reduced follicular reserve?
  • Are you over 40?
  • Unsure if egg donation is the next step you want to take?
  • Wondering if IVF with own eggs could still be successful?

Would like to have the option of trying both?

It is may also possible for you to carry out a combined cycle of IVF with own eggs,  alongside IVF with donor eggs. This combined cycle means that the you will have the opportunity to ‘try’ developing your own eggs and fertilisation of these eggs, but also at the same time have the comfort in knowing  that if unsuccessful  donor eggs will also have been fertilised and can be transferred.

If this is an option that you would like to explore further please contact us to arrange a free noon obliging consultation with our doctors.

IVF with donor eggs and donor sperm

If you have already tried IVF with own eggs without success, if your follicular reserve is low, IVF with donor eggs and donor sperm may become a very efficient solution, which can be realized in combination with own egg IVF or as a separate treatment.

If you have already tried IVF with own eggs without success, if your follicular reserve is low egg IVF with donor eggs and donor sperm may become a very efficient solution.

IVF with donor eggs and donor sperm involves an egg donor, a sperm donor and an egg recipient. The egg donor undergoes IVF treatment to produce eggs. These are then fertilised in the laboratory by the donor sperm. The fertilised eggs become embryos, and one or two of them are replaced back into the uterus of the egg recipient to create a pregnancy.

If you would like to find out more information about the egg donation process request a free, non-obliging consultation with us.
