In-vitro fertilization (IVF) is a procedure of fertilization outside the body und subsequent transfer of an embryo into the uterus. Primary indications for IVF are the following: fallopian tubes disfunction, decrease in sperm quality, endometriosis, unexplained infertility.

IVF is a multiple-step process that consists of ovary stimulation, oocyte retrieval, eg fertilization outside the body, embryo transfer into the uterus, and finally treatment after the transfer.
